Requirements Engineering: The Light Control Case Study

E. Börger, R. Gotzhein (Guest Editors):

Special Issue of the Journal of Universal Computer Science, Springer, Vol. 6 (7), 2000

Zusammenfassung

A variety of methods, techniques, and tools for requirements engineering, both informal and formal, are being advocated in industry and academia. However, it is often difficult for a software engineer to assess the quality or suitability of a particular approach with respect to a given problem he wants to solve. The objective of this J.UCS Special Issue is to make existing requirement engineering approaches better comparable, and to highlight their strengths and shortcomings. To achieve this objective, an informal problem description of a Light Control System has been selected to serve as a common basis. Papers in this Special Issue demonstrate the application of requirements engineering methods, techniques, or tools to this problem description.
